Tropos 32

Eccezionalmente stabile.

Specifiche chiave

Kickstand removable?
More a question than a review!
First, I really like the backpack! Use it everyday. So my question is: Can I remove the Kickstand? e.g. for cleaning or even reparing some little holes (sewing). I guess other customers would like to know this, too.
Thanks in advance for your answer
Osprey Customer Service,

Hi Chris,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Tropos 32.

It is great to hear you have been pleased with your pack.

The Kickstand has not been designed to be removed from your pack as this may cause irreversible damage to the structure of the pack, and will void your All Mighty Guarantee. For advice on cleaning your pack, we'd recommend following our How to Clean your Pack guide.

Regards,

Great product
I am really impressed of the quality of this product, it is really robust and comfortable to wear. Plus you have a lot of space for everything you need. I would buy it again.
The kickstand is just amazingly useful.

Great backpack.

So close to perfect - but a great student bagpack
I got my Radial 26 stolen on holiday, so I choose this new bagpack
I had some criteria to the bag:
1) kickstand is a must
2) pocket organizers
3) laptop sleeve
4) separate room for clothing
5) room enough for books and lots of food
6) not be too bulkey, to fit my bike-carrage or my back
7) paperholder
8)Sunglass compartment

First impression:
The kickstand was not living up to my earlier experience and the bag kept tipping over. So I stuffed the bottom of the large compartment with some T-shirts, so the kickstand could get stretched out ( took about a month)
Secondly, there wasn't any pockets or organizers in the big compartment, other than a paperholder.
Thirdly, the bag could hold a ton of stuff!! I could easily fit all my belongings for a day in highschool!
Lastly, I really digged the organizers in the front compartment and the front zipperroom

3 months of everyday use later:
Holy sh*t, this bag can hold a lot of stuff and still fits my needs, such as not to be too large to fit the locker in the gym, at my school and my bike.
I can, after some practice, fit:
Laptop, with charger + mouse
Towel and everyday clothing, including shoes
2 * lunch
Books and notes
Powerbank, wallet, headphones, calculator, toiletries, bottle ( water and thermo bottle at the same time!)
Raincover
Now, the bag will of course be fully stretched and the compression straps will not be in use
Note that with other bags, this would be impossible

Overall, I really like this bag. It accommodates me well and is comfortable to wear. It has a lot of the usefully features that commuters benefit from.

But there are of course some nit-picky stuff missing...
Organizers for the big compartment ( like Radial 26)
RAINCOVER! Plus the compartment at the bottom ( again, like Radial 26)
Transparent organizers with zipper
Thicker waist straps
Powerbank compartment with easy access

But I discovered some small hacks!
If you buy a raincover, you can store it behind the trampoline mesh and not feel it! Easy access and not taking up any space!
You can threat headphones through the hydration system
You can hang, say a fitness lock on one of the straps on the front of the bag
You can put your phone in one of the waterbottle compartments on the side of the bag for easy access

Brilliant bag - check it’s not too big for your needs
I love this bag! The kickstand feature is great and I love all the pockets and sections. I work in different places and there’s tonnes of room for my laptop, chargers, spare cables, notebooks, keys, glasses, food, etc etc. Honestly it’s big enough to use for work trips too - in fact I’ve recently shoved a change of clothes into it with all my tech/work stuff and taken it for an overnight trip. Just check it isn’t overkill for your needs and buy a smaller one if so.

Osprey Customer Service,

Hi Philipp,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Tropos 32.

It is great to hear that you have been pleased with the layout of the pack and that it is well suited for the functionality intended.

We appreciate that you have pinpointed some areas of improvement, and these have been passed to our Design Team as we are constantly looking for ways to improve our products.

The Tropos has not been designed to hold a reservoir, the feed through hole and loops are there for a headphone jack to prevent it from moving when on the go.

The Access Zip in the backsystem of the pack that you are referring to is not there for consumer use. This zip is used to apply tension to the backsystem of the pack during production and should not be tampered with (hence the zip-pull being reversed to prevent it being easily opened).

When empty, the pack should still remain upright, we would recommend ensuring that the frame of the pack is fully opened, as this should resolve this problem.
