Momentum 26

Ride on time. The Momentum 26 was born to commute. It's what we consider to be the perfect balance between performance and organisation, making it the ideal journey to work partner. The AirScape™ back system features foam ridges for ventilation, so you keep cool on long rides in the city. The ventilated stretch yoke and load lifters on the harness combined with the elastic hipbelt wing mean that the pack is able to move closely with the body, offering extra flexibility and comfort. A separate padded laptop and tablet compartment keeps your electronics quick to hand and easy to access. Our unique Lidlock™ attachment provides the perfect place to quickly stow your bike helmet. In wet weather and heavy traffic the built in high-visibility rain cover provides protection, with the added safety feature of a bike-light attachment point.

great backpack
Only the second backpack I have owned (unless you include the rucksack with which i toured Scotland in the 60's). A brilliant design, lots of thought has clearly gone into every detail, I love the retractable key-ring in a small side compartment. My only criticisms are:
1) bulky items in the front 'organiser' compartment protrude back into the main compartment, so there is less space available in there
2) When out shopping it is impossible to access any of the compartments to put purchases in, whilst the pack is still on my back. With a bit of a struggle I can just get stuff in the side compartments designed for bottles, but this is not a secure area!

Great pack for commuting
Really love the pack for commuting with laptop, lunch, change of clothes and waterproofs. Lots of useful storage throughout the bag and well compartmentalised sections to keep things organised. The only drawback that I have is when I have the pack half empty or less (i.e. not very full) and I need to use the integrated rain cover (also an awesome addition!), the toggle to adjust the elastic is located right at the bottom of the bag between the bag and my back. This creates a hard point which is very uncomfortable even for shorter rides.

Just a cracking, functional pack
I bought the Momentum 26 as a direct replacement for my older Momentum 22. I loved the older bag and dare I say it, the new one appears to be better made. I commute by bike 3 times a week on a 50 mile round trip, so comfort and the ability to carry a laptop safely are paramount. When choosing the new bag, I looked at other brands but knew the build quality of the Osprey and didn't want to chance a lesser product. Already, The 26 fits the back better than the older bag and I'm less aware of the weigh of the laptop when its on my back. I didn't need an additional 4 litre of carrying space but its a welcome addition when i have my weekly kit on a Monday. Laptop, towel, jeans, Polo shirt, lunch, wallet, phone, the usual. I loved the placement of the key fob on the old bag which sat on the shoulder strap, the new key fob is slightly harder to access but allows a larger set of keys and is more robust, so just a case of getting used to it. Everything internally works well and there is a pocket for all your gadgets and bike spares if you want to keep them off the bike.
The back is better ventilated than the old pack, which was good enough. Can't really say much more, its spot on and does a great job. Ow, the rain cover is easier to access on the new bag as its at the front as opposed to being on the underside, which does make a difference. Great pack.
