Katari 1.5

Liquid Movement. When the name of the game is keeping hydrated, Katari is the ideal pack to carry. Built with a focussed feature-set and performance-based shape, this pack is made to move with you during intense outdoor activities. Housing an integrated 1.5L Hydraulics LT reservoir while retaining a great fit and comfort, these packs help to push your limits.

A small, streamlined design and stable fit keeps your water where you need it, even when your movement speeds up. An innovative, ventilated mesh harness, back-panel and webbing sternum strap lock the pack down to your back, while the bite-valve is always within reach thanks to the innovative magnetic sternum strap, which can be opened and closed with one hand, while never taking your eyes off the trail. A top scratch-free pocket can store your sunglasses or phone without risk of damage, as well as a separated pouch and clip for your keys. The LED light attachment point and reflective graphics can give you peace of mind in darker conditions.

Very nearly perfect
This pack is very nearly perfect. If all you are looking for is a simple pack just to carry a hydration bladder, and a couple of extras for your medium length summer runs, then this is the one for you.

The actual bag itself is the perfect size for the hydration bladder. Even when the bladder is filled to it's maximum, there is enough room that you could fit a couple of extras in there if you wanted to (although I don't for fear that anything rubbing on the bladder might eventually burst it).

The only other compartment is a small pocket at the top. Despite its size, I carry a pair of sunglasses, an energy gel, my keys, a buff and suncream. So it is still convenient.

The Osprey bladder is brilliant, but there is nothing new there. It's the perfect size for anything up to 20KM for me in the summer.

So far, I have only had one downside to the Katari 1.5. When it is fully loaded it tends to ride up on to my neck off of my shoulder, despite being a perfect fit once I have drunk about 1/3 of the water. It isn't too much of an issue, as my t-shirts tend to be higher necked but it would rub on your neck in a tank top of v necked t-shirt.

My only other negative comment is that the material on the edge of the strap is quite rough and coarse. I think this is so that it can provide airflow through it, which it does very well, but it does take a couple of runs to soften up.
  • 1.5L Hydraulics™ LT Reservoir included
  • AirScape™ mesh backpanel with central ventilation channel
  • External hydration access
  • Internal hydration sleeve
  • LED light attachment point
  • Reflective graphics
  • Sternum strap buckle with magnet
