Atmos AG 50

Ventilation and comfort in 3D. The ground-breaking new Atmos AG is equipped with our unique suspended AG AntiGravity™ backsystem which incorporates the world's first fully ventilated hipbelt. Whether you're exploring hot climates or trekking through tundra, the seamless mesh and 3D cavity backpanel equals unrivalled ventilation and comfort whilst providing excellent load carrying performance.

Fill the Atmos AG to the max and it'll feel practically weightless on your back, thanks to the ExoForm™ Biostretch™ harness, load lifter bar and the Fit-on-the-Fly™ hipbelt.

InsideOut™ compression provides impressive load support, reducing fatigue so you can push your adventures harder and longer.

Need easy access to your gear? The twin zippered front pockets, base zip and top-lid entry points mean that no matter what you're faced with, you can easily grab your kit. Our Osprey Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole attachment allows you to either stow or access your poles without removing your pack.

A large sleeping bag base compartment with internal divider allows you to store your gear separately when required.

When the weather turns for the worst deploy the integrated & detachable raincover contained within the lid.

If you're looking to cut weight to the last gram then the FlapJacket™ means you can remove the lid and still keep your gear protected from the elements.

love osprey packs and annoyed that i can't have this one because they don't do small
Tried an atmos 50ag and thought it was very comfortable but a size medium was too big ,,why do only do a medium and large..
Osprey Customer Service,

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to write about the Atmos AG 50 on our website.

I'm sorry to hear that you have found the Medium size to be too big for you. The backsystem for the Atmos AG 50 is adjustable, therefore, we recommend that you try this on again but this time, ensuring that the backsystem has been fully adjusted and fitted to your torso. You may find this to fit you better.

The reason why we stock these two sizes is because of the fully adjustable backsystem.

If you require any further assistance with sizing, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Service Team.

Kind regards,

Osprey Customer Service

Great
Fantastic backpack!

Mr
Used it now on a few hikes and back pack trips around Europe, really comfortable and straight forward. A few grips, nothing against the brand just things I would have liked to see more of. No side pockets for bits and bobs that need quick or constant access.
The rain coat takes up a full top pocket, would love if that was on the bottom so I could use the same on top for more top access.
Hip pockets are great but small, my iPhone was a tight fit in it.
Lastly would love external access to the water pack, I had to un pack my bag to get it in and out when re filling would be nice to not have to do that.

All in all great backpack light weight strong would just like a few more pockets :)

Sehr gute Lüftung an allen anliegenden Teilen.

Most comfortable back pack ever.
Seeking for a 45-60L back pack for my Camino hike (30 days of appr. 30k per day) this pack was on top in most reviews (being the pack that you don't carry on your back, but wear as a suit). This pack keeps that promise. I've walked daily with about 10Kg, an additional Kg with food/drinks not even noticing. Great air ventilation on the back and the belt. Side pockets in belt are very practical.
Every leach is designed to pull the weight towards your back, and there are many adjustments possible. With a removeable toppack, you can manage even to take this pack at handluggage with most airlines. Get proper advise in wearing and fitting (the 50G comes in different body sizes).

Osprey 50
Just started to use it on my backpacking trip and I very happy with that so far. Plenty of pockets, especially like the two front ones. Feels quite light on my back even when its overloaded thanks to the belt part.

A Revelation
I am a British Osprey fan and have used a number of different-cpacity Talons which are great for fast walks and light weights. Had to choose a pack for the 24kms Fan Dance Race over Pen Y Fan twice on steep gradients in the Brecon Beacons carrying 35 lbs/16 kilos. This was by far the most comfortable Osprey pack carrying this weight plus; literally forgot about it en route. Great fit and ventilation.

Improvements: Tried to buy a Small in UK but Osprey only import M and L into Europe; please remedy for short backs (like mine). Like Talon packs, reinstate the front shoulder strap open pockets to take a phone and an external access H2O bladder pocket - very important. Make the waist pouches deeper. Have a built-in rain cover.

Please send me the prototype to test!

Good rucksack
I Tested this rucksack last summer (2016) on a short mountain journey (16 km to go). Well to be honest I didn't feel "anti-gravity" effect and when I got to the place, my shoulders were painfull. Probably I adjusted the Rucksack wrongly. What I missed very much is straps to conect my sleepng bag. According to the Osprey team you can use lower compression straps, but I couldn't do that (sleeping bag was just too big). So I would just suggest to do same straps as for Atmos 65 model.
More or less I am satisfied with Atmos 50 and I am going to use it!
Thank you Osprey!

incredible bag
I bought this bag as a main backpack for a month across Indonesia during rain season. The capacity gives you enough room to pack smart and avoid an overload of unnecessary things. Spending a little more than 2 weeks in secluded villages, living with the family between the jungle and the rice paddies, I can definitely tell you that this bag can take a lot! Heavy rains, dust, dirt, hours on buses rooftops or on my back during bike rides; I never really felt the weight of my Atmos on my back..
This bag gave me all the satisfaction I was expecting, and I'm really looking forward to its next update with sleeping bag straps, as I don't see the need for an Atmos 65..

The bag is very comfortable to use. The quality is very good.
But the carrying system creaks every time you take one step.
It is completely unacceptable and annoying that you can not hear the silence of nature around you when you walk.
Only therefore, I can not recommend it to others.

A great load carrier
I've owed and used this pack for around 18 months regularly doing multi day trips (and last week using it whilst passing my Mountain Leader assessment!) and have found it to be really great at carrying weight and even stable when scrambling. I had a ground fall whilst climbing two years ago breaking my back in the process and it really forced me to review all my gear, I went lightweight where ever I could and when I was able to carry some weight switched to this pack. Compared to the pack I had before I really don't think I'd have been able to manage as much as I did as quickly with anything else. A really great pack.
