I chose the shorter of the 2 and this size was perfect for my height at 5'3. When full of my travelling stuff it weighed 15kg perfect for flights, and when the pack was on it fit like a glove and felt like no weight at all. It didn't even leave shoulder marks. The waterproof cover worked perfectly. The only downside is that you can't padlock it closed if leaving in hostels or buses. Suitcase style opening made life so much easier.

Super for my long trips!!!
I already bought an osprey in the past and it was really a good backpack but not good enough for a long backpacking tour. This year i decided to buy one bigger suitable for many days trekking. I think this will be a great backpack!!! Like an other user i'm a litlle bit disappointed because all the on line videos show a top lid that can be converted into a daypack. It's not a big problem because most important thing for me was to carry a big weight without so much stress, anyway a daypack would be very useful. There's a way to have it? Where i can find? Thank you

Top lid does not convert to a day pack
I did a lot of research before buying this pack an watched a lot of video's on it beforehand. Many of these video's show a top lid that converts to a daypack. That was one of the top selling features for me, as it comes in handy when traveling by plane. you can check in your bag and use the daypack as carry on. Unfortunately when I received my bag this feature turned out to be removed. After checking out the website I realized they never mentioned it being included in this bag, but since there are so many video's showing it, I never checked... It's still an amazing bag but I just want to warn other people not to expect the convertible lid. I wonder if you can buy a convertible lid separately and switch them?

Love this pack!
Just took my Ariel on a 7 day hike of the West Highland Way, fitted all my gear (tent, sleeping bag, mattress etc.) easily! The sleeping bag compartment is perfect for a tent because it means you can pack your bag inside your tent when it rains and pack your tent afterwards ! The anti-gravity system does it’s job too, I carried around 15kg (water and food included) and it didn’t feel that much heavier than my day to say backpack!

Fab pack
I love my aerial, fits me really well, and is really comfortable. There are the right amount of pockets to keep all those essentials close to hand without having to delve into the dark depths of your pack for them.
The only thing I don't like about it is that the hydration reservoir is on the inside of the pack where I worry it will burst with the pressure of all the other gear rammed in the pack and it's a pain to get it out and refill it and get it back into a full freighted pack, rather than in it's own compartment like some other osprey packs, but osprey explained to me that this was to allow maximum ventilation, and the ventilation is great. I get around this by using the stretch pocket on the front of my pack for my reservoir.
On a multiday hike in hot weather I did get blisters on my hips, after about 3 days, but this was more than likely my own fault.

Very good
Hello. Ariel fits well. But I l don´t like the colors. Does Ariel Ag 65 come in a new color next year? A kind of purple? Like Xena or Sirrus?

Great service
bought my Ariel AG65 in an M size thru internet .... as I already suspected I needed an L size in hipbelt and harness. I contacted the guarantee dept in the UK and they told me to send the items for replacement. So I did. Everything very quickly resolved. Now the pack fits me like a glove. I've planned several multiple-days hiking/bivouac trips this year, the first one in 10 days. I am really looking forward to this :-) Thanks a lot for the great service !

Ariel 65 AG recommendation
I didn't really like the bagback when I saw it on the internet, in real life it looks so much better. I just got the pack a few days back but I already love it so much. All my stuff fits in there, including my hiking tend etc. It weighs around 10 kg now and it feels so leight on my hips. There are so many details which are really well thought out. Although I'm a minimalist and usually don't spend that much money on things, this item is really worth its money. I'm confinced this bagback will be perfect for my two months trip to Central America.

Great piece of engineering
I just finished my trip throughout Canada with my new Ariel AG 65 and the matching Daylite Plus. I am really deeply satisfied with its fit and the neatly designed details.
Just one minor thing: an easier attachment of the daypack in case the backpack is quite full (and therefore thick) would be helpful. One now needs to appply quite some force with the current solution.
Apart from this fact, I am convinced this backpack will be the perfect partner im crime for my upcoming trips. A great piece of engineering, which is definitely worth its money. Well done, Osprey Team!
