Xenith 88

A true wilderness expedition is a project in long-distance organisation. You'll appreciate a pack that understands the challenge ahead. The Xenith is our thoroughbred racehorse of backpacking packs, it was bred to organise and carry your gear across Earth's remotest regions. The dual side-zips and lower base compartment provide multiple access points to the main body of your pack. We know what a 25+kg load feels like, we've invested all our expertise and experience into the "engine" of the pack - or you might call it the backsystem. The customizable Bioform™ CM hipbelt supports and distributes your load in an even and comfortable way. The torso adjustable NeoSpacer™ harness and AirScape™ backpanel provide both ventilation and comfort. Our unique Stow-on-the-Go™ feature allows you to attach your Trekking Poles to the pack quickly and easily without removing it. You can remove the top lid and convert it to a lumbar pack, perfect for day hikes away from your basecamp. The Powermesh pockets on the front and sides of the pack are great for storing anything you can cram into them, designed to access water bottles on the go. The dual hipbelt pockets provide instant access to essentials like Energy Bars, Sun-Cream or Compact Camera. The Xenith incorporates everything we've learned over the last 40 years about building durable, comfortable and intuitive expedition packs.

Having several Packs from Osprey, I needed a Pack with greater storage and weight capacity!
Knowing Osprey Quality I decided to upgrade from my Aether 70 to the Xenith 88.
I carried a 65lb load with ease and comfort right from the off! I found that on the ascent and decent it was very well balanced and comfortable.
The features of the pack are as per usual Osprey quality!
The thought process, Design and materials quality in my opinion cannot be beaten.
This Pack is perfect for 2 nights unto several weeks of Treking, travelling etc.
I recommend this pack to anyone who needs to carry a large and heavy load!
The only thing I was a little disappointed by was the need to have to buy a Waterproof pack cover separately, My Aether already had one built into it! Especially with the cost of the Xenith 88.
However, I do still believe it was money very well spent.

For 5 weeks we traveled by human power down the Karun, the longest river in Iran; we moved in that time from a subzero and high-altitude wintery start in the mountains, to the hot, humid plains that one might more commonly associated with the Middle East. This is the second lengthy journey on which I have used the Xenith 88. It is rugged and reliable - as all Osprey packs are - and I love never having to worry about the durability of my backpack when I’m on a trip. It’s clear that it has been well thought out, too - the pockets on the hip belt are a fantastic addition. A pack is arguably one of the two most important bits of kit on any trekking journey (along with boots) and for that reason I’m delighted to report that the Xenith is near flawless - I can highly recommend it.
