Kamber 42

Built to perform in the toughest mountain conditions, the Kamber ensures maximum levels of durability and safety. Designed with a multitude of technical features and using our 14 years' experience of designing ski packs, this pack has been cleverly engineered to ensure optimum fit and accessibility. With multiple attachment points and carry options, the Kamber excels when attaching your skis or snow board to the pack. Rig your skis diagonally or on the side of the pack. Utilise the vertical or horizontal backpanel carry for your board. On longer climbs or tours - you'll also appreciate the Kamber rapid deploy, secure & quick-stow helmet carry. If you need to cut down on weight, remove the lid entirely and expose the integrated FlapJacket™ feature that provides additional protection to the top of the pack if the weather suddenly turns on you. Designed to be at home in the mountains, the compression molded backpanel is built with snow shedding properties. Backpanel entry means you can quickly access the main compartment without having to take your pack off. The internal compartments mean you can store your wet and dry gear separately. With zipped pockets on both sides of the hipbelt your small items are quick to hand. There's even a fleece-lined non-scratch home in the pack for goggles. A hydration reservoir sleeve that includes freeze resistant insulated hose routing through the shoulder harness. A quick access avalanche safety kit pocket with shovel handle and probe sleeves means you're covered for any eventuality. Big days have just been given a boost!

Yes, you can!

I must say, the quality of this product, thought that was put into it makes it a very good purchase. However, there is one thing that disapoints a lot - helmet system. I have a black version, so those elements I'm supposed to hook my holder to are not that easy to find when you're in a hurry or the light is not that great in the morning. The pack offers few options of holding a helmet, yet you can't miss an impression the elements are badly located. But this is not the worst. If you want to unhook the holder, prepare yourself for a struggle. Even without gloves. Osprey is proud of their glove friendly zippers, yet the helmet holder is not that friendly. Especially when it's piercing cold. You actually start to swear to it. Yes you do. It ought to be much much more comfortable to use this thing. It's not that complicated, so I don't see a reason it should be that troublesome.

Besides that tiny winy problem, the pack is superb. Its fine for a few days in the field, as well as for a short time excursions. Even when the 42 is not filled to it's full capacity, I was still able to wear my skis and all quite easily. That was a huge problem with my previous touring pack from another respected manufacturer.

And yeah - I love the design ;)
