Frequently Asked Questions

Hello, I have one question. I´ve got this backpack (70L, size MD). Which carying case is better for this model? Airporter M or L? Thank you and have a nice day.

Either the M or the L would suitable. As your pack is to be put inside of the Airporter some people like to protect their pack by adding pacdding in the ways of a coat or sleeping bag if you are to do this then it would suggest a L. However, a M could also be suitable for your pack and padding.

Good backpack. Especially the back ventilation is great.
Question: In the German version of the Owner Manual it is stated that size L is for back lengths of 18 - 21 inches. Isn't that a mistake? On the English, French, Spanish and Italian versions of the Owner Manual it is stated that the back lenght is 20 - 23 inches. (The same being true for M = 16 - 19 inches in the German version and 18 -21 inches in the other versions.)

    Daypack/Lid
Thanks for the quick response. The included rain cover is definitely convenient, no question. Would it be somehow possible to buy the daypack/lid separately, and if so could you provide the proper link to it? Thanks in advance.

    Daypack/Lid
Hey guys. Just purchased my Aether 70 AG recently and watched a review on this pack. It mentioned that the lid of this pack could be transformed to a fully functional day pack. However, the lid on my Aether 70 AG does not provide that option, yet it was said it's included in the pack.Just wondering if that's some sort of upgrade or just simply missing on my pack :) Thanks!

Really good but information is misleading
I recently purchased an osprey aether 70 ag, and am really enjoying it, but I find some information is vague. I would like to know what size (litres) of hydration bladder it can hold. that is my only complainy. good job guys.

    Bombroof and Quality
I purchased this backpack for wild camping trips throughout the UK. I tend to go overboard on things and always bring luxury items - this pack is an absolute beast. It can carry everything and more with ease. The quality of materials and construction throughout is second to none; yes it's the most expensive backpack I've ever purchased, but this thing will last a lifetime if looked after. I am 6ft tall and found the medium size fits me perfectly. The load distribution is amazing and the straps and AG system do a great job of making heavy loads bearable. This pack carried 19KG with ease on a recent trip to the Lake District. Brilliant pack and worth every penny.

    Best Backpack I've ever owned
This backpack is a beast. Yes, it's the EU version with a rain cover and at first i was a bit bummed about the missing day pack that was mentioned in the reviews of the US version. But I live in Ireland and boy does that rain cover come in handy!
The pack itself is high quality and the AG System does seem to do a good job at distributing the weight of the pack down to your hips.
I'm still wondering how the product photo people managed to arrange all the straps so neatly, mine are dangling about like there is no tomorrow.

All in all, I hope the pack will serve me well in the coming years and I will be ordering a day lite pack to attach to this thing as a day pack.

    Daylid again
Tested it in my local retailer store, the pack felt great. On top of the overall feeling of the pack, I love the idea of a detachable lid that converts into a daypack. Actually I would have already purchased the pack, but since the version in the store was the EU version, I did not do it. It's just too much of a letdown. And concerning the raincover, one can always buy it separately. I guess I have to settle with other brands.

    just the job
ive bought this for a 40 mile 5 day trek in the cairngorms in scotland, out the box this pack is quality, the materials used are tough and the zips have large ring pulls,so even with gloves on you can get into the pack, living in the uk im very pleased that it comes with a rain cover, the pack feels really comfortable when on and the AG system fools you into thinking you are carrying less weight than you actually are, overall am very happy with my osprey aether ag 70,the lifetime guarantee does this product justice, it wont last you a lifetime but it wont fail on you in 6 months either,THE BEST RUCKSACK IVE EVER BOUGHT .

my best back pack so far
I bought my Aether 70 more then 10 years ago. It does its job excellent. Really sticks to the back without being sticky (in wet). I have used backpack almost every year and it survived airplane -(punishments) , foul weather and lots of rocks. It shows now some wear, still not enough to buy a new one :-(
This backpack is my first big pack that easily can be adjusted to carry less then its 70 liters in a comfortable way

    Great, but surprise with daypack
    A very good backpack.
I trekked for 3 weeks with it in India as first use, and it was very useful in all occasion. But as many european user I was disappointed to discover there's no daypack.
Maybeyou could help your customer by sending them this daypack, or offer discount on this daypack for european customer, or create something to transform 'hat' of the pack in a messenger bag or something like that.
