Xenith 75

Wilderness unlimited. A true wilderness expedition is a project in long-distance organisation. You'll appreciate a pack that understands the challenge ahead.

The Xenith 75 is our true workhorse of backpacking packs, it was bred to organise and carry your gear across Earth's remotest regions. The dual side-zips and lower base compartment provide multiple access points to the main body of your pack.

We know what a 25+kg load feels like. To make this load more manageable we've invested all our expertise and experience into creating the best large-load bearing backsystem ever. The customizable Bioform™ CM hipbelt supports and distributes the weight of the pack in an even and comfortable way, while the torso adjustable BioForm™ harness with NeoSpacer™ mesh and AirScape™ backpanel provide both ventilation and comfort.

Our unique Stow-on-the-Go™ feature allows you to attach your Trekking Poles to the pack quickly and easily without removing it. The Powermesh pockets on the front and sides of the pack are great for storing anything you can cram into them, designed to access water bottles on the go.

The dual hipbelt pockets provide instant access to essentials like Energy Bars, Sun-Cream or Compact Camera.

The Xenith 75 incorporates everything we've learned over the last 40 years about building durable, comfortable and intuitive expedition packs.

In Europe, this pack is supplied with a standard lid, rather than a DayLid.

Really good backpack
First of all, I have a previous version of this backpack (bought in 2017).
The structure of the backpack is incredible: strong, durable, it has an optimal way to carry the load and be comfortable at the same time (even with more than 20 kilos). All its features are smart and useful so you can organize your gear and take them out really fast if you need it.
I only have 2 observations to make:
1- there's no rain cover included, and that's actually a little bit annoying when you spend over 250 euros for the backpack...
2- (THIS IS ONLY FOR MY VERSION OF THE BACKPACK! ) the fact is that the backpack has a removable hood that's awesome BUT, when you remove it, the main body of the backpack has no actual cover on the top! It is obviously a problem when you need to separate them!
However, this problem has been solved in the actual version (2018), so I guess I was just unlucky with timing of the purchase...

Separator in the bottom
Regarding the separator in the bottom i also observed that the space between is big. There is any special reason thats exist?
Osprey Customer Service,

Hi Yorgos,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Xenith 75.

The Xenith 75 has a sleeping bag base compartment with internal floating divider. This has been designed to leave a dedicated space in your pack for your sleeping bag, and to ensure the main contents of the bag does not fall into this compartment. You do not have to utilise this feature, as the internal divider is floating and can be completely unclipped.

Xenith 75

Best medium weight pack
I've used this pack on 4 trips from 10 to 16 days carrying all my food. It's a very comfortable pack with great weight distribution. The main compartment was smaller than my 65l backpack but the 2 front pockets are massive. Very easy to pack things that you need first or fast. And if you don't use them, then the pack is not so big a you would expect from a 75l. Because of these pockets the weight is also kept in de middle of the pack. The top lid can be used as a small daypack and I've used it twice, it's a nice feature, and quite large. For this weight there's no other pack with the same quality, durability or carrying capacity with so much comfort. It's really the best I had for long trips and winter camping. What I don't like is the separator in the bottom, it doesn't fully close so smaller things might fall through, so it's pointless to have and just adds weight. The logo peels off from the stretch pocket. And the side stretch pockets are open on the side, so small things can fall out, I rather have fully closed pockets on de side. They could made a lighter version without the side and bottom zipper, I never use them. Or a roll top so you can leave the top lid at home. If I ever need another large pack it will be a Xenith again.
