Tempest 20

Building on 10 years of iconic design, the next generation of the iconic Tempest series is here. Tempest 20 features clean, modern design and stunning performance no matter what your adventure. When it comes to a perfect all-rounder the Tempest 20 won't disappoint, after all it's designed to cling to your back like a frightened monkey.

The cleverly designed new AirScape™ accordion foam backpanel combined with a seamless lumbar-to-hipbelt body wrap increases air flow and provides an even more comfortable carrying experience, by keeping the load close to the body and spreading the weight evenly around the hips. The Tempest's backsystem also offers an impressive women's specific fit, with an ergonomically shaped hipbelt, harness, yoke and backpanel.

Tempest 20 features an adjustable back length, ensuring the pack fits well to your body and enabling the most comfortable carrying experience. The pack is complete with innovative solutions such as Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole attachment, LidLock™ bike helmet attachment, single ice-axe attachment and InsideOut™ compression straps. The zipped pockets on each side of the hipbelt allow quick and easy access to smaller items such as phone, snacks and GPS. On the top of the pack you will find another conveniently placed pocket, ideal for small items that you need easy access to. On the front of the pack is a large PowerMesh™ pocket, which is ideal for a wet jacket or extra layer of clothing. Keeping hydrated during activity is essential and re-filling your hydration reservoir has been made easy with the quick access external hydration sleeve with reservoir hanging loop.

Tempest 20 is compatible with all Hydraulics™ reservoirs and the size Extra-Small High Vis Raincover.

Tempest 20 is built to be lightweight, comfortable, durable and exceptionally versatile. No matter the adventure, Tempest has your back.

Great pack
Love the Osprey packs! I have one of the older Osprey backpacks designed women, and am currently looking for a pack for everyday use, when commuting to work. As I am not a large person, the usual S/M packs are just that little bit too long for my back for it to sit comfortably. I really wish you would sell the XS/S size packs in Europe as I'm sure I am not the only petite woman this side of the pond.
Osprey Customer Service,

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate your feedback.

We do not currently stock XS/S as we have found this not to be a popular size in the past, however this is something we will consider for the future.

Well, I'm small chested but I find the curved shape annoying. I have the Osprey Talon 22 as well which has unisex straps, which I prefer but I bought the Tempest 20 as I wanted a more compact shape and size wise it's better. I'm long in the body and find it less long than the Talon. However, I find that unless I'm wearing several layers, the back pad digs into my back, which is uncomfortable. However perhaps I'm not adjusting it correctly as there are so many straps! It is light compared to other products and I use the bike helmet section to carry items which I can dig out without removing the rucksack! Whereas the Talon has two strap compartments for carrying snacks, the Tempest has only one, not sure why but the side pockets on the waist can carry dried fruits & nuts or energy bars, however don't put your keys in them as they will tear. The old style of Osprey was stronger. All in all though I find Osprey products best for long hikes. They are not waterproof though so a protective cover or a white bin bag inside is useful.
Osprey Customer Service,

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate your feedback and I will make sure that it is passed on.

However, the current Talon 22 and the Tempest 20 should have identical features. Please email Care@ospreyeurope.com if you have any concerns.

As for the keys in the hipbelt pockets, we do not recommend this as both the Talon and the Tempest have key attachment clips inside the pack to keep your keys safe and secure so that they don't get lost.

Please see here for information on how to fit your pack, if you believe that you are not doing it correctly. Womens Fit does mean the pack is shorter and narrower.

Regards,

Osprey Customer Service.
