Great for petite frames
Being very petite (under 5 ft/ 152 cm), it's not easy for me to find a backpack that sits tight on my narrow shoulders. But this one - Sirrus 36 - fits my back so well thanks to its tall shape. I took it on its maiden voyage last year, hiking for 5 days on the Kumano Kodo trail in Japan, and I only have great things to say about it. The pack felt lighter than it actually was, carrying 8kg (almost 20% of my weight!) for 10 hours a day was not a problem. The pack's features were great for "hiking mode" (walking poles loop, rain cover) as well as for "backpacking mode" (accessible from the side, roomy inside and can be divided into compartments, plus a number of small pockets). I hope this model will still be around if I need to replace it some years from now. Thank you Osprey!
der Rucksack entspricht alle meinen Erwartungen,
die Kaufabwicklung sehr schnell, bin sehr zu frieden,
Just returned from a 3 day self sufficient trip though Knoydart and this pack was perfect. As a 5ft 2 small build female who just turned 40 I was a bit nervous about carry my house, food, water and supplies on my back for 3 days (plus the 2 days either side getting to and from the sleeper train) but I survived. Other than a bit tenderness on my shoulder and hips I had no trouble at all carrying this pack. Coped very well with a fair amount of falling over and being knee deep in bogs, hardly a mark on it. Great size, any bigger and could easily over pack and be too heavy to carry.
I bought this bag to use in situations where my Arial 65 was too big ie for weekends away, day hikes (it can be cinched small if you don't need full capacity) and multi-day hikes where I am not carrying a great weight. The fabric itself is water resistant, as I discovered in the Lake District, so if you get caught in a spontaneous rain shower you are covered! I love that the harness can be adjusted to your torso length and the bag can be fastened securely to your back. As it is a small capacity it is narrower than the 65 which is great as you don't want a short stocky bag but one that sits securely against your back!
Improvements needed; The hip belt isn't as good as the one on the Ariel which is okay if you don't plan on carrying heavy weights, and I would prefer to have a stretchy external pocket on the front of the bag instead of the zipped pocket as the zip does strain a bit as it's pulled, I can see this being a warranty issue! I would love to see a mustard yellow version of this bag ;)
Es una mochila excelente. Me ha acompañado al camino de Santiago y no ha podido ser mejor elección
Perfect travel companion!
I’ve taken this bag backpacking around South east Asia with me and it’s been perfect, once full and heavy you can do up the clips and the bag feels almost weightless and I have had no issues carrying it long distances. The meshing at the back is a stroke of genius and even in 30 degree heat it helps keep you from getting too uncomfortable. Would highly recommend this bag to my fellow backpackers!
This backpack is absolutely perfect, I love it. It fits me very well, the quality is durable and you barely notice the weight on your back. I also love all those little features which come with the backpack (many pockets, you can fix your hiking sticks easily, space for a water reservoir and you can fix your sleeping bag, jacket or sleeping mat outside on the backpack). I would strongly recommend it to everybody who is searching for a professional multiday backpack or daypack (you can tighten it with straps).
Very good. Fits well. Comfortable with a full load.
I travelled around Europe with this rucksack recently. It fits well and is comfortable when walking with a full load. Lots of useful pockets. I didn't try out the rain cover, so I don't know how effective it is at keeping water out. I like the colour, too.
Einmal Osprey, immer Osprey!!!
