  2. Good pack
I use it for hikes with my dog. It carries enogh water,a foldable bowl, my phone and purse. Quite enough.
    Yes the strap is narrow.

  3. Ideal bit of kit!
Great For those longer walks or bike rides, takes the essentials, but I agree with some of the previous reviews, the belt strap is too narrow, but apart from that an ideal accessory.

  5. Good but flawed
I bought this for a trip to S. E. Asia so I wouldn't a back pack on all day. It's well made and has good capacity, the water bottle pouches work well for a variety of things. However I agree with a previous reviewer in that the belt is a bit narrow at the front and is too low on the pack so it hangs away from my body which does make it less comfortable than others.

  6. Overall very nice, but could use a couple of small improvements
This is overall a very nice waist pack, it feels quality made and it's super lightweight. The waterbottles feel a little cheaper than the rest of the pack, but I like the weird shape of them! The bag sits higher than a lot of other waist packs which I like, and it feels nice and secure as long as you haven't packet it too heavy. I would have loved a wider front strap so the weight is destributed over a larger area and I think that could make the pack more comfortable to wear, as I find that I have to tighten it quite a lot in order for it to stay put without boucing around (but when it's pulled tight it sits nicely). One thing I miss on this pack a lot is some kind of extra compression strap that could really tighten things up when you have packed it with very heavy things (think something like the two included waterbottles filled up + 2 ekstra bottles of liquid, a couple of big bags of snacks, a good sized lunch + fruits as well as your usual hiking stuff), it has the two straight jacket compression strings, but these doesn't tighten things that much even on the tighest setting and the two smaller compression strings on either side of the water bottles don't seem to do much for me other than pull the fabric on the padded belt towards the bag and not the other way around, which is what they were intended for and it just doesn't help that much.
So overall a nice bag, especially if you pack on the lighter side, but it needs some improvement in order to acomidate heavier hiking loads.

  7. Update to my prior review.
I bought 2 Talon 6 lumbar packs; one from Amazon marketplace which was an older model and the latest model direct from Osprey Europe. The bottles on the older model were slightly loose, but it appears that the bottles on my new pack work better. Stupid me didn't try the new bottles out before I submitted my review. My only concern now is that the pack won't take other water bottles. Other than that I love this lumbar pack!

  8. A super lumbar pack!
I just ordered the new Talon 6 lumbar pack and am very impressed with this product! It was delivered quickly by DPD courier in a few days. It well constructed and roomy. One drawback are the custom made water bottles. The spout closes too easily when drinking from it. Other than that I really like this pack.

  10. Great bit of kit, non-leaky bottles and sensible storage capacity for short and medium distance walking.
I bought a Talon 11 recently and was so impressed with it I decided to replace my normal walking hydration back with the Talon 6. My existing pack was a no brand 2 bottles and pouch affair with bottles that always leaked and a pouch that was never really large enough for anything much more than a set of keys.
The Talon 6 hasn’t disappointed being really well made and with bottles which so far haven’t leaked a bit (apart from when I was stupid enough not to have closed the cap on a bottle properly – unfortunately no one can engineer out stupidity on the part of the user !!!). Some reviews point out the odd shape of the bottles and complain you cant stand them up while filling, I haven’t found this to be a problem you just have to be a bit organised if you are filling with any extras like juice or goop to go with the water.
Initially I found the pack to be a bit uncomfortable before realising it needs to ride a bit higher up my body than my old pack, lesson here is you need to play with the packs various straps and adjustments and try moving its position around on your body to get the perfect fit. Once you have it worked out its very comfortable to be carrying around a kilo of weight in water plus whatever else you may want to cram in it. Like the Talon 11 its extremely well made, lightweight and well thought out with plenty of space and sensible design.
My only minor criticism of it is a personal observation that I would have liked the waist belt to be a bit wider which I think may have made it even more stable and perhaps even more comfortable but that’s just speculation as I am not a human ergonomics engineer.
I need a lot of water when walking and I have found the capacity of the Talon 6 to be about right for my normal daily walks, I don’t really need the huge storage space although I can see for some of my walks the space will be useful when I am carrying a camera and extra water plus food. For myself I just wanted to get a quality bit of kit that’s well made and the Talon 6 has perfectly fulfilled that.
Summing up it’s a great bit of kit, non-leaky bottles, sensible storage capacity for short and medium distance walking or where a lot of kit is not required and speed and lightness are the priority.
