Love it !
Just bought this as I needed a commute bag that I could sling on a shoulder that didn't look like I was commuting to an alpine trek or combat !!
I have a load of Osprey packs (Talon 6, Talon 11, Talon 33, Manta AG28 - my partner has the same set plus a FlapJill) and they have all been great - this one is no exception. I needed a pack with bags of space to take a 15.5" notebook plus files, my lunch, purse, makeup, pens, calculator, office gear etc for commutes around the country. I did look at other packs but they were either less functional or a lot more cash. I would have preferred a FlapJill for the nicer colours (especially the Desert Tan) but none of them had the capacity I needed.
I just loaded my FlapJack Courier with all my work and personal stuff I need when travelling and its swallowed the lot with room to spare. I bought a black colour and I love the bright orange interior which makes it easy to see whats in there (note to Osprey web site manager - you really should show the interior colours of the bags - I thought this would be a dull grey and am very pleased its a nice bright colour but I wish I could have seen the interior colour swatch - it would have made my buying decision easier as I did want a splash of colour).
Like all Osprey kit this is is well thought out, extremely well made and like all the other bags I have from Osprey it looks like it will last a lifetime. Osprey fabrics sometimes look fragile but they aren't - this one looks bulletproof so would probably survive an atom bomb.
I love the organisation inside the bag with a sleeve for the laptop, separate sleeve for folders and notebooks and. zippered compartment for thin files/magazines plus a capacious open space. The other pockets around the bag swallow up my phone, purse, keys, pens (in a handy organiser) plus my water bottle and other odds and ends I need when travelling.
This bag is a dream for me - I didn't want a backpack but I did want a large bag with lots of organisation that could be slung on my shoulder or carried in my hand and this fits the bill exactly.

If I have one small complaint its that the zipper handles don't have the classic Osprey rubber grips that you use on the Talons. I'd happily buy some of these if you sold them as an accessory. One other minor niggle is this - why do outdoor manufacturers always provide the nice colours for us girls and then make the bags smaller ? Could we not have a big bag with some nicer colours. Almost all of my Osprey bags are from the male line simply because I needed a larger bag and my body shape is better suited for the male sized bags.

With those points made like all my Osprey gear this one ticks all the boxes - its as close to perfect as I will ever find and I love it already.

Really good, almost perfect.
I recently bought the flap jack as a work bag. It replaced a TNF courier that was showing its age. I really like the organisation inside the bag, very handy. Its comfortable on the back and looks cool. Assuming it has the same build quality as my Talon then it'll be a great pack.
My only negative comments are that I'd like a quick release buckle on the main strap and for the secondary strap to be angled (these are both features on my old TNF bag) -the angled second strap would hold the bag with less flapping when cycling.

Short strap
First of all, I would like to thank the Osprey team for great bag you created. Flap Jack is a really great helper for everyday activity. I like it. Sections, Pockets and all other details really make your caring easier. However, over the shoulder strap is too short!!!! My advice to Osprey: - make the strap longer!!!
Kind regards!
Osprey Customer Service,

Hello Alex,

Thank you for your feedback.

The strap on the Flap Jack Courier is adjustable however, we will look into the length and pass this feedback onto our design team.

2013 Model Still Kicking Butt after 3 years
I picked up the 2013 model for my daily work commute bag, and my day bag for travel and it's held up amazingly well. It's light weight, strong, very durable and alot of convenient pockets. The side pocket specifically is great if you have a narrow/tall water bottle. This bag has been all over the world and subjected to the daily indignities of public transit and the ONLY thing that's happened to the bag is one of the pull tabs on one zipper came off, and the OSPREY lettering on the shoulder pad has half peeled away. But that's just minor cosmetic wear that hasn't hurt the use of the bag.
