Farpoint 70

For where wheels won't go. The Farpoint 70 is our lightest travel backpack yet. Featuring a zip-away spacer mesh ventilated backpanel, the Farpoint can be carried like a backpack but packed like a suitcase. The strong and durable backsystem means you can carry your gear comfortably when travelling between hotels, the airport or beyond. Cushioned carry handles on the top and the sides allow you to easily grab the travel pack off airport baggage carousels. Your gear is readily to hand, with the inclusion of a large zippered lockable opening that allows access to the main compartment. The compression straps are also used to attach and secure a 13L 'zip and clip' daypack, which includes all the organisation, you'll ever need; a top stash pocket for electronics and sunglasses, dual side pockets and a laptop sleeve. The daypack can also clip onto the harness of the main pack, in a 'kangaroo' style attachment. This provides a very secure way to carry your daypack when you want to keep your valuables or tickets to hand. Inside the main cargo bag is a mesh pocket ideal to separate dirty clothes and shoes. Internal compression straps fully maximise the capacity whilst securing your gear. For overnight trips attach a sleeping pad to the lower external straps. With all the organisation and clever features you need, it's time to share your next adventure with a Farpoint 70 backpack.

Excellent sac

Pratico, capiente e senza compromessi
Consigliatissimo.

Very flexible - great for all sorts of travel
I bought this for a trip to SE Asia last year, so it's seen planes, buses, trains & streets. The day-pack is a brilliant idea - it would help if it had another pocket though (phone, passports/docs to hand - the tiny outside pocket is just a bit limiting). I find I use the mesh pockets for sunglasses etc - but these do not feel secure enough. On the whole though, it's a brilliant idea and I used the day bag a lot. Being able to zip the straps away for putting into the hold is excellent - no worries that it's going to get shredded.

Moving on: I work away from home quite a bit, and use the pack to travel on the tube when in London. It's perfect - I use the day bag on the mainline train to have my valuables to hand (main bag in the luggage rack), then (because I'm taking less stuff than when on a major trip), the day bag can sit inside the main pack for the tube part of the journey. It's just short enough that you can stand on a crowded tube train with the pack between your legs so you're not using up loads of room.
When going to/from work during the week, the day pack is plenty to carry my laptop, phone, chargers, waterproofs etc.

Because I often throw the daypack inside the main pack (rather than zipping it on and off, which is a faff when you're just jumping off a train) it would be really useful to have at least one external pocket on the main pack to throw last minute things in (or keep waterproofs to hand etc). I think someone else mentioned this already.

Moving on again: I have also used this when staying in a couple of more upmarket places (conferences etc) - zip the straps away and you have a nice looking holdall rather than a rucksack (not that this really matters, but it's nice to be able to do this).

The fully opening top is excellent - combine this with some packing cubes (e.g. the amazon basics ones are great) and packing/unpacking/finding-stuff is a two minute job.

Overall though, it's a flexible, well-thought out system - just a couple of extra pockets would make it perfect.

Molto soddisfatta

Good travel pack
I purchased this pack for travelling South East Asia and Australia, the main pack is a good size and it worked well, my only issues are with the detachable day pack. Firstly is a good size to carry the basics and it great to clip it to the main pack and carry in front of you, pocket wise it has a Velcro closing laptop sleeve and another zipped pocket for a tablet inside the main compartment and then a smaller zipped pocket on the outside, I think it could have done with an additional organisation pocket on the outside somewhere for documents like passport, Wallett etc and RFID safe, but the main problem I found was the mesh water bottle pockets being not stretchy, this meant that when you used the pockets it would reduce the internal pack capacity and if your pack was fully packed, you couldn't use the water bottle pockets
