For where wheels won't go. The Farpoint 55 is our lightest travel backpack yet. Featuring a zip-away spacer mesh ventilated backpanel, the Farpoint can be carried like a backpack but packed like a suitcase. The strong and durable backsystem means you can carry your gear comfortably when travelling between hotels, the airport or beyond. Cushioned carry handles on the top and the sides allow you to easily grab the travel pack off airport baggage carousels. Your gear is readily to hand, with the inclusion of a large zippered lockable opening that allows access to the main compartment. The compression straps are also used to attach and secure a 13L 'zip and clip' daypack, which includes all the organisation, you'll ever need; a top stash pocket for electronics and sunglasses, dual side pockets and a laptop sleeve. The daypack can also clip onto the harness of the main pack, in a 'kangaroo' style attachment. This provides a very secure way to carry your daypack when you want to keep your valuables or tickets to hand. Inside the main cargo bag is a mesh pocket ideal to separate dirty clothes and shoes. Internal compression straps fully maximise the capacity whilst securing your gear. For overnight trips attach a sleeping pad to the lower external straps. With all the organisation and clever features you need, it's time to share your next adventure with a Farpoint 55 backpack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Could you please tell me, is there any smaller bag compatible with this one? I have the far point 55 and it comes with small daypack attached to it. But I wish to have a bigger daypack which is compatible with this bag.

The Daylite Travel is compatible with the Fqrpoint 55, as it can have the Compressions straps on the pack secure the Daylite to the Farpoint, It cannot zip directly on to the pack like the original Daypack.

  1. Perfect for travelling. Shame it's a bit tall for flights.
This backpack is fantastic for travelling! It's very handy having a large backpack for clothes etc., and a smaller, attachable, day pack for walking around in a city. Adjustable and very comfortable.

The only minus is that the larger unit is a bit too tall for most, if not all, airline hand luggage restriction. You could probably tighten it up with the attached cords and sneak it aboard some non-budget airlines if it's not packed to the brim (I have!), but you'll risk sour looks from staff, and maybe even a fine. These IS the Farpoint 40 for those who want a hand luggage compatible back pack, but then you won't get the detachable day pack. If the Farpoint 55 if ever remade, I would like a Farpoint variant with the hand luggage compatibiliy of the FarPoint 40, AND the day pack from the Farpoint 55.

  2. Best backpack on the market, BUT...
Absolutely amazing backpack, comfortable, perfectly sized, easily accessible, secure.
However, it is a real shame that you can't buy a replacement day pack because inevitably this is going to be the piece that will see the most use.
I can't fault either part or the quality and build but this would be the only negative aspect.

  3. Dunderköp
Köpte nyligen inför backpackresa i sydamerika.

  4. Great pack pack with easy access especially when used with packing cubes for organising your kit.
This is an exceptionally well designed back pack. The small day pack fits well onto the main pack, and is also big enough for carrying essentials during the day. The way the day pack clips onto the front harness is good both for balancing weight and keeping your valuables in front of you when walking. The only slight criticism is that the webbing for caring bottles on the outside of the pack is too small/tight for large bottles. This is an improvement that could be easily made to the design. The way the straps pack away into the back is great for easy carrying on transport and also for flights

  5. Thinking of buying this product
The airlines i typically use often require a height below 55cm, when the main backpack isn't packed fully can it be compressed to fit the go/no go bag cages some airlines use to check size or does the internal frame prevent this

  6. Works fine!
One week on the road and much less adventure than getting UPS to do the delivery (and lose the totebag).

Qatar Air accepted the main part as hand luggage no problem.

  7. It's great... Just one flaw
Bought to reduce my pack size whilst heading round parts of Asia. The pack put together is comfortable to wear, the front loading is easy to access, the ability to hide the straps was great for loading onto the plane / busses / trains et.c The day pack is easy to remove from the main and has a good size, could do with more pockets inside though.
The problem I encountered was the material the day pack was made of in contact with your back has ruined every t shirt I had with me as it rubbed the material so much. It's tough and durable but it's also fairly rough.
Would still recommend the purchase though.
