Ariel AG 65

Having once graced the cover of the legendary Time Magazine, Aether AG and its sister pack Ariel AG, now takes a big step forward to make your journey even more rewarding.

Ariel AG is designed for multi-day backpacking and carrying significant loads. The backsystem combines the comfort and ventilation of Osprey's multi-award-winning AG AntiGravity™ backsystem with the custom-mouldable fit of Osprey's next generation IsoForm™ hipbelt. A sprung mesh lumbar area, combined with stiff load bars integrated into the harness allows for impressive load transfer through the large muscle groups in the legs, enabling an even and comfortable backpacking experience. Ariel AG's backsystem also offers impressive women's specific fit, with an ergonomically shaped hipbelt, harness, backpanel and yoke.

Organisation and accessibility are key during long adventures. These packs stand out with multiple access points including the J-Zip front panel access into the body of the pack, as well as sleeping back compartment with wide zip entry an internal divider. The lid not only has multiple pockets but is also removable, offering great versatility. The top of the pack remains protected without the lid thanks to the deployable FlapJacket™ top cover.

An integrated rain cover, Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole attachment, InsideOut™ compression straps and multiple attachment points allow you to carry your gear any way you like. Ariel AG 65's capacity allows for plenty of gear to be carried with ease on extended trips.

Ariel AG provides uncompromising comfort, ventilation and stability for your multi-day adventures.

As an essential feature for Europe, this pack is supplied with a raincover instead of the DayLid.

Great service
bought my Ariel AG65 in an M size thru internet .... as I already suspected I needed an L size in hipbelt and harness. I contacted the guarantee dept in the UK and they told me to send the items for replacement. So I did. Everything very quickly resolved. Now the pack fits me like a glove. I've planned several multiple-days hiking/bivouac trips this year, the first one in 10 days. I am really looking forward to this :-) Thanks a lot for the great service !

Ariel 65 AG recommendation
I didn't really like the bagback when I saw it on the internet, in real life it looks so much better. I just got the pack a few days back but I already love it so much. All my stuff fits in there, including my hiking tend etc. It weighs around 10 kg now and it feels so leight on my hips. There are so many details which are really well thought out. Although I'm a minimalist and usually don't spend that much money on things, this item is really worth its money. I'm confinced this bagback will be perfect for my two months trip to Central America.

Great piece of engineering
I just finished my trip throughout Canada with my new Ariel AG 65 and the matching Daylite Plus. I am really deeply satisfied with its fit and the neatly designed details.
Just one minor thing: an easier attachment of the daypack in case the backpack is quite full (and therefore thick) would be helpful. One now needs to appply quite some force with the current solution.
Apart from this fact, I am convinced this backpack will be the perfect partner im crime for my upcoming trips. A great piece of engineering, which is definitely worth its money. Well done, Osprey Team!

Ariel AG 65 happy about it!
I've had my eyes on this one or the Exos, for lightweight but I'm really glad I went with this one! Tried this backpack out in the store, it was the only model that really fit me (and the Helium 55L) cause the others pressed against my bum. I'm 163 cm, 50 kg and apparently got a low hip bone ...or a high ass :P. It felt a bit back-heavy then but when I got it home and played around, adjusting it with a short torso so the backpack was quite a lot over my own height, it felt perfectly balanced. Sturdy and great backpack to adjust. I love my new mobile home and now I can be the snail I've dreamed of being haha! Peace!

(Osprey, you should really make this form mobile friendly, cause at first I didn't even see the five star rating, only four.)

Ariel AG
Really nice backpack, I just bought it three weeks ago in germany and already used it on my trip to spain where I was mostly hitch hiking and camping.
But what i don't understand is, why is the european version different from the US?
In some advertisement videos and reviews the top is a convertible lumbar pack or even a small backpack,.
I was somehow dissappointed when I saw that this special is not available in europe, as well as the womens size 75.
Osprey Customer Service,

Hello Christin,

We are glad that you enjoy our pack.

The old Aether and Ariel has a removable lid which converted into a Lumbar pack but from our experience and customer interactions, this feature was very rarely used whereas a Raincover would be more useful and used more frequently.

These packs are still compatible with the Daylite series which will make a suitable daypack, however, if you are not wanting to have another pack attached to the outside of yours, we do have our Ultralight Stuff Pack which fits nicely into the pockets of the pack.

As for the Ariel AG 75, we find that there isn't much demand for this pack in Europe. However, we appreciate your interest in this volume and I will pass this on so that we may stock this pack in the future.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Osprey Customer Service

Back system
Ive been looking for a backpack for weeks. And now i stand between the Osprey Ariel and Osprey Aura. If it wasnt because of that the Aura dont have the 3/4 opening, I would have bought it. And if the Ariel had the back system like the Aura, then I would buy the Ariel for sure. Because the Aura backsystem is so comfortable when you try it on, it really sits and forms after your back. So the Ariel is more conveniet while the Aura is more comfortable. Just a tip to the Osprey team - making an opening in the middle of the sack as a standard design would solve alot of packing/unpacking scenarios :)

Love - from 2nd day of travel...
I had this backpack with me for a 4 weeks travel through Panama and Costa Rica and... I simply love it!
I'm 174 cm tall and weigh around 65kg - wm size perfectly fits me!
This backpack offers enough space for even a woman who doesn't exactly know what's really, really important to take with you on a backpack trip and rather packs safely than misses out something. The best thing: Due to 3/4 front zipper I always were a lot faster in packing than my boyfriend (which never happened before!).
Than why only loved it from the 2nd day of my travel?
On it first flight (in a drysack) it still got a small scratch on the bottom (and the drysack got wracked) ;(
But from than on with local bus and taxi-boat rides nothing more happened and it was my ever reliable companion!

The best thing next to a plane ticket!
This backpack is truly amazing. It's my best travel buddy and I can't imagine myself without this specific backpack! Used it for my hiking trip to Iceland which required me to carry a lot of gear with me, but with this backpack it hasn't been any problem whatsoever. I've been using it for every backpack trip since I bought it and I will continue to do so! :)

Osprey Customer Service,

Hi Amelia,

Thank you for your comments. We've checked the video and the back system does extend in the way shown. However, you do need to pull the velcro holding the shoulder straps in place away to allow the back system to move up and down freely.

Great backpack with easy access!
This is the best backpack I have ever owned. There are 3 ways to enter the bag so it didn't matter where I put my stuff, it was always easy to access. It was very comfortable and I could adjust it so that it felt very light on my back. The only complaint I have about it is that a small tear appeared on the section where the rain cover is, about 2 weeks after I travelled. I was worried there would be more tears (it happened when it was being loaded on/off a bus) and that the material was weak, but there were no more problems in the 7 months I used it. I would highly recommend this bag and lots of other travellers were envious of my bag!

Perfect
I used the Ariel 65 for a five month trip around Europe, Africa and Asia. It had enough space for all of my gear and was comfortable to carry 20kg for up to two hours, even in the heat. The heat moulded hip pads were a god-send and the fabric and buckles were all durable; I didn't have to replace any of the parts.
