    10/10!
This is a fantastic bag! I bought this as in my big move from places like Mountain Warehouse to solid brands ("buy cheap, buy twice"). Seeing the bag advertised at a discount with someone like Jason Fox sticking up for it caught my attention. I'm spending more and more days out in the mountains so purchased and went from there.

As soon as it arrives you can just see the value compared to other bags I've had. The build quality, texture, features. I've used this for a few single days, most notably Snowdon with my 5 year old in December and Scafell Pike with her again in April. Different weather conditions, plenty of room for extra kit and her stuff too. The bag is easily adjustable, really comfortable, and just feel like it's a part of you with no back pain.

This bag will have no trouble supporting my multi-days when I get back out and do them. In the meantime, I am will be looking to buy the Archeon 30 or Talon 36 for some single day usage to support the Archeon 45 too.

The hydration pouch will fit your normal narrower camel pack water unit in, but I am looking in to the wider Osprey hydration units to spread the space a bit more.

Lastly, there's a brilliant video on YouTube by Forrester Bushcraft which goes into detail with the bag. If you're not placing an order by the end of that video, I'm disappointed in you!

    Marvellous Mountain Minimalism
So I am an out and out Osprey fan, I have a Stratos that has been going for years, a Xenith 105 for multiple days unsupported in the wild and now an Archeon45. There is an argument to say your new kit always enjoys a honeymoon "kit favourite" period but the Archeon45 is like bumping into an old friend. Osprey packs have lots of neat innovative features and there are those who say the Archeon strips that back to the fundamentals of what a pack should be.... a sound load carrying harness and plenty of room. Well yes I can see how you might think that, and in someway it allows us to focus on the rugged recycled material and hardwearing alloy fittings, but actually for a 45 litre pack it has a few neat tricks. PANEL LOADING! Whether it is getting out your boil in the bag pouch on a light weight overnight camp, or pulling out jackets for kids on family walks - panel loading is ace. PANEL STORAGE - Yes the same panel is not a useless flap of material there are two zipped pouches for those things that would rattle around else where (steel and flint etc). INTERGRATED RAINCOVER - OK it is not rocket science but or innovative but it is darm useful, along with bladder sleeves large hip belt pockets etc. Buy this if you want a no fuss rugged pack for enjoyable days on the hill and you value simplicity and function. I love this pack!!!!

    Highly recommended
I bought a Fjallraven Abisko Friluft 35 but saw the Archeon 45 in a shop the same week. I returned the Fjallraven and purchased the Archeon 45 in green.

The extra 10 liters is a huge difference allowing you to use the backpack for an overnight camp.

The Archeon is faultless with workmanship in construction. It is on the heavy side but the material will stand up to a lot more abuse compared to other backpacks.

Only fault I can find with design is lack of web retainers on the hip belt and the sternum straps. They have them on the other straps.

The zip down front panel is a game changer. The Fjallraven has same system but the design is ruined by the Velcro at the top of the zip down panel. This zip down panel on the Archeon has an internal mesh pocket which is very handy for organizing your smaller items.

The Archeon has a bladder port whereas the Fjallraven doesn’t.

The Archeon hip belt isn’t as comfortable as the Fjallraven’s but it’s a small price to pay. The pockets on the hip belt are also bigger on the Archeon fitting my iPhone X which wasn’t possible on the Fjallraven.

The Archeon has a dedicated rain cover pocket whereas the Fjallraven doesn’t.

The Archeon 45 shape looks better than the Archeon 30 as the 30 looks like a round barrel.
