Very good product
Good product and good value, very sturdy.
Usable for commuting with your laptop as well as going for excursions (although more focused toward the first one).

Also very comfortable

Good upgrade for comute backpack
Surprisingly light and sleek design (I already own Radial 26). I don't miss the rain cover, I borrow it from the former backpack. What is worth mentioning is that the two side pockets labelled as for water recipients can be used for virtually anything that fits them. What you put inside doesn't go out by itself.
The laptop compartment has also good mechanical isolation.

Smart, functional, maybe a little too stripped back
9 years ago I bought Osprey's Comet - a 28L 'everyday/commute' pack. It was my first Osprey and we went on a whirlwind affair. Years later it was over. And off it went to Osprey's repair service. In came the 28L Apogee. It wasn't just the lack of dirt and broken straps - this is a smart bit of kit.

I love the side pocket design, the functional access and the lack of mesh! Loving the water repellent finish, strap stow-away and the overall look - it makes the old Comet look very strappy and dated - so all good there. For a primarily urban pack it certainly looks the part - the 'Cypress green' is more towards to the grey end of the shade.

I'm a bit surprised that it has less internal pockets than the Comet - that model had a really useful pocket right at the opening of the main compartment. Externally the Comet also two front face compartments. The Apogee instead has a seperate second large compartment. What I miss is somewhere to put bike pieces or rain cover and keep them out of the way. A slim compartment on the face served this very well. The Comet also had a front face carry handle in addition to the one at the top which was surprisingly useful. Not sure why when so much is stripped back Osprey continue with a waist strap - I'm glad it comes off and can't imagine it ever being used.

So the Apogee looks very much a stylish bag and the old Comet looked like a backpack. I think one additional slim compartment, better (zipped) internal organisers and an included rain cover (tho the cover from my 12L Syncro fits it) would get this to 5/5 for me - but I'm happy with it for sure.

A very good backpack
The best backpack ever. I find "apogee 20" an exceptional backpack. Light, practical and comfortable. Much better than imagined. Very resistant braces, fabrics and zips. Excellent for daily movements, even by bike. It is my second osprey backpack and I chose "apogee 20" for the materials and quality found. We'll see how it behaves over time

Thank you Osprey.

I like this daysack. Really, really good to carry. Access is a little difficult.
This is the first daysack that I’ve found really compromises well on the features I was looking for. I wanted something which was as good to carry as a first class day hiker (like the Talon 22), but was actually designed with access to technology in mind. This ticked both those boxes well. It’s comfortable, rigid on the back, breathable and does definitely offer up quick access to a tablet, laptop and smaller bits from the two non-main compartments.

I only have two bits of feedback for improvement. First, the storm flaps on the zips are pretty chunky, and I think it slows down opening and closing the bag. Second, I find it difficult to access the bottom of the main compartment, particularly if the secondary compartment is packed out, which makes stowing big items like jackets a bit tricky in a hurry. The effect of the second point is that, often, the bottom of the main compartment isn’t packed out even when there’s kit in the compartment which I’ve tried to put there in a hurry.

I said the points were minor. I think this is a great all rounder.
