Dive into white water
Water, wild and primitive can be experienced in the Salzburger Saalachtal in all its diverse forms and with all your senses. There is hardly any other area when you can dive into the cooling water in so many different places and experience its refreshing power first hand.
Have white water adventures on exciting rafting or canyoning tours through torrential rapids and deep gorges. The kids can try out stand up paddling with white water profi Ben on the calm Almsee at 1500 metres. And on your walks through gorges and on the alms you can cool off at one of the wild swimming spots in the region. Or spend a day in the natural bathing area Vorderkaser, where barbecue sites, rafts on the lake and a suspension bridge await.
A journey of discovery alongside stone giants
No matter from which direction you approach them you can’t overlook them and certainly can’t miss them. The Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge don’t just awake the desires of die-hard mountain and climbing fans to get closer to their craggy rocks. But alongside the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge there is a lot more for you to discover and hike – eg. the Naturpark Weißbach and the Almenwelt Lofer where you can wander over lush alpine pastures and past traditional huts. As well as this you certainly shouldn’t miss out on a trip to the newly certified Hiking Village Unken, where farming culture meets almost untouched nature.
Out and about with the e-bike
There are nearly 100 rental bikes and 480 kilometres of marked bike trails for those who want to explore the mountains on two wheels. Thanks to electric power, even grandma and grandad can manage the ascent in no time at all.
