Jo Bradshaw

Adventure: Bradshaw in Bolivia: A youth expedition
Dates: Jul-Aug 2018

I’m off to lead a 3-week expedition in Bolivia with an all-girls school. It’s a developmental expedition where the girls are in charge and I am there as health and safety police, or commonly known as the Technical Leader! We are doing some project work in a school near La Paz after a short acclimatisation in the city. We’re then going to trek for 4 days along the El Choro Inca Trail before some much needed R&R on Lake Titicaca and the Salt Flats. The girls have organised the itinerary, raised the funds and we are on for a big adventure!

Adventure Completed

  • 14th July 2018 – Jo headed off for her 3 week adventure and will land back in Blighty on 4th August
  • 15th July 2018 – After many hours of travelling Jo and her pupils arrived safely in La Paz
  • 17th July 2018 – Headed to the San Antonio community to work in a school for 4 days
  • 22nd July 2018 – Took a short trip to Isla del Luna to visit the famous Lake Titicaca
  • 24th July 2018 – Trekked the historic El Choro Inca Trail. Many of Jo’s students had never trekked before, let alone in Bolivia on mountain paths and wild camping, but a great trek was had by all!
  • 28th July 2018 – Their expedition continues to Uyuni where they come across wild flamingos, wind blasted rocks and even more stunning views over the Salt Flats
  • 1st August 2018 – Spent the day rocking overalls and miner hats whilst visiting the mines in Potosi
