"Pretty much perfect" (Posted on 10/08/2016)
It comfortably held all of my stuff and there was even a little space for most of the clothes and gifts that I picked up along the way.
Being able to tuck the straps away is such a comfort, when having to check your bag at the airport.
My only little moan and what would make this bag a 5 star in my opinion is that the hip and shoulder straps do not provide enough support and padding. It's fine if you're only walking short distances, but if the backpack is full, it gets quite uncomfortable about 25 mins or so.
"Really Ideal for Travelling" (Posted on 07/07/2016)
"Different weight" (Posted on 27/05/2016)
Bought this 3rd bag to ensure myself (again) with quality, and just by looking at it, I know it will not let me down.
But I also shop in ounces/grams... and when I saw "Weight : 1.09 kg" in the description, I was stoked! Now, when I see 1,387 kg on my scale, I'm shocked.
That's 27% off... !
I've even looked for objects in every pocket, 5 times over.
So, I'm not so happy anymore. And I will contact Osprey for this. But I'm still convinced it will prove it's value on the next trip.Osprey Customer Service, 01/06/2016

"Great!" (Posted on 27/01/2016)
I have one suggestion for improvement: An expandable pocket at the bottom. Often, we travel from Germany to warm countries with hand-luggage only and wear sports shoes and a jacket on the flight. Once there (wearing flip-flops and a t-shirt), I'd like to stow them in the backpack, but there is no room. The expandable pocket would put things right.
"Excellent all-rounder" (Posted on 29/12/2015)
"It fits airline carry on restrictions..." (Posted on 16/12/2015)
(4 stars because it could be a bit more comfortable and that size of bag with wheels would be amazing.)
"Great bag for ultralight travel" (Posted on 15/12/2015)
1. Weight - just over 1 kilo is great if you want to travel carry-on only and need to be economical not just about what you take but also what you carry it in.
2. Stowable harness - important if bag is to heavy after all and needs to be checked in at the airport.
3. Lockable zippers - I can lock all zippers with just one small padlock.
4. Hip belt - many other carry-on backpacks do not have one at all.
5. Laptop/tablet sleeve and front organisational panel - I like the idea of being organized.
6. Top pocket for easy access to toiletries bag.
7. Fairly solid side walls - the backpack does not collapse in on itself when packing.
8. Compresses really well.
I have used this backpack as my sole bag on several trips now (three weeks in Southeast Asia, two weeks in Italy, several other short trips in Europe) and I'm still really happy with it. There is only one thing I would change about it: the hipbelt. It's too small and doesn't really help distribute weight from the shoulders to the hips. If the Porter 46 had the hipbelt of the Farpoint 40 it would be perfect. I thought about getting the Farpoint 40 instead because of the hipbelt issue but overall I like the design of the Porter 46 so much better that I will stick with it for now. Though if Osprey ever updates it with an improved hipbelt I will buy one immediately.
"Great backpack!" (Posted on 14/12/2015)
I was just a bit afraid that I would not be able to carry it as a carry-on luggage, but I never had any problems with it. Always carry it as a cabin bag.
I bought it for a world trip, and haven't had any issues so far. Actually, I couldn't be happier with a backpack. It fits a lot of stuff! Totally recommend it!
"Best backpack ever " (Posted on 02/04/2015)
It was a great time fooling many airlines with their weight & size restriction of cabin luggage with the Porter 46.
I only wished if there was a service centre in India, in case something goes wrong with the product.

Thanks for your feedback. While the Porter 46 does conform to some airlines cabin luggage policies it is not part of our carry on product range. If you would like to view our range of cabin luggage you can follow the link below:
"Really good backpack for weekenders" (Posted on 20/01/2015)
Say Hi Market
It is very hard to find a fully openable backpack with a laptop compartment. Trust me, I have been looking for something like this for a year and a finally found it!
**NOTE: I was so pleased with Osprey service and quality that I bought another backpack for commute.
"Perfect backpack fitting most airlines cabin dimensions" (Posted on 16/01/2015)
If you pack your backpack properly (hard things at the bottom and middle, and soft things in the end), this backpack can be very efficiently compressed and will more than fit the cabin dimensions.
It's also quite comfortable to carry, so it's pretty easy to walk with it for a while.
